Very late report from FNwF and Vrigstad

Thanks Cheryll for organising us all in FNwF!

I was at a knit retreat in Vrigstad and knitted amongst a lot of other ladies the whole weekend. Very relaxing, just had to be in time for every meal! I already long for the next time. Here's a photo of one corner.








And here's one from Sunday when Vasaloppet was going on and almost everyone was facing the telly.














I started and finished a hat, it feels great on my head but is way to warm to wear in this nice weather we're having at the moment.

And tomorrow I'm leaving for a quilt retreat this weekend.



I sure could get used to this retreat life I think!

SAL - February

I was a day late to report my February blocks in the SAL, but here they are, and I promise to do better in March.

Initial Heart Swap

I took part in the Initial Heart Swap organized by the lovely Cheryll.
I was to send to Andrea, and made her this felt heart. And enclosed the chocolate box called "with Love"

I received this gorgeous needles and hooks roll from Tracy! Thank you so much Tracy, it's just what I needed! It's funny, I've mad quite a few like this to give away but never one for me. Now I've got one and I love the fabric she used in it!

FNSI

Friday night I was sewing with Wendy and lots of other gals during the FNSI. Thank you Wendy for having us all over, the bikkies were great! Do go check out what everyone else was doing!

For Christmas I made my DM a cushion for her kitchen sofa, she liked it so much so I was going to make her another. It all went well, or so I thought, until I was going to sew the six disappering four patches together. SIGH! yes a very big sigh!
Do you see my mistake?

The two blocks on the left I had cut previously and I DID measure before I cut the rest of them, BUT not good enough obviously! So I stopped there and didn't even have any energy left for my knitting. I hope I have fabric enough to make four new ones.
This is the cushion I made for Mum before.

Friday night I met with blogging friends in the cyber world, all THANKS to Cheryll!

I was working on a block for a friend in the QBSA. I won't show more because I want it to be at least a tiny bit of surprice. And I guess it will be because it turned out to be more than 13" so I have to make it again.

Today we've had the pleasure to see the sun and when I found a place away from the very cold wind I could feel the sun warming up my face. I guess there's hope of spring coming, at least the sun along with hard winds are melting the snow away.
Let's just hope we won't get any more snow this season!

One more day left of January!

I decided to make my stitchery into a mini, and am pleased with that. I do love these soft christmas colours!

I hate the shadow I get taking photos under the lamp!

FNSI and SAL

Yesterday was FNSI with Wendy and all the girls in blogland. Thank you Wendy for organising us all.

I finished my Christmas stitchery which is the January work for the Stitch-A-Long I've joined this year. We're going to make the Natures Journey by Anni Downs. I hope I'll get my pattern next week! The stitchery is a free pattern by Anni Downs.

Friday night

As I told you it was FNwF and I did some knitting on my Ursula cardigan by Kate Davies. I don't know why but it has turned into a UFO because I haven't worked on it since August!

Before that I went to the stable. I have to show you a photo of Misty, she really enjoys her bite of apple. Do you see her tongue? She can be like that for a long time, sucking on the apple like a baby taking the bottle, and she makes that sound too!

Gorgeous gifts and FNwF!

I told you I had got a parcel from the lovely Cheryll, the best swap mama ever, and here it is!

I got it because I missed out on the Mini I was supposed to get from someone that didn't send it or replied to the emails from me or Cheryll. I just hope nothing has happened to her!
Back to the gifts. The Mini is perfect, just what I like, a day at the beach in Summer. A beautiful calender for the new year with a different bird for every month and a fabric with cockatoos on it. I love birds you know!

FNSI

For the last time this year Wendy organised FNSI for us all, and there was 48 people who signed up. Go check them all out HERE! Thanks Wendy for having us all over, and I'm looking forward to all the fun next year!

I can't show very much of what I did sew, it's that time of the year you know, but here's a sneek peek for you.

One thing I can show is the advent calender which was ready and delivered on the 1st of December.
I haven't been doing much in x-stitching over the last couple of years so this was fun but a big project to do in just over a month. It looks really sweet and Henning loves it!

These are my childrens advent calendars that my mother made for them when they were growing up!
