Friday Night Sew In - August, and a PIF

I joined in on the FNSI over at Wendy's together with 58 other lovely ladies.
I can't show what I was sewing because it's for Kerry in the Quilting Block Swaps Australia. I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for her so you have to wait for that one.
And then I continued on my HVIRVELSTRØM. I've almost finished the arms. This is the arms together with a piece of the back, even if it looks like a snake for now!

I've been lucky lately and have won this beautiful package of Tonga treats from Kate over at Two Little Banshees. Thankyou so very much Kate, the fabrics are divine!

And after that I had a PIF gift in my letterbox. It's from Irene over at Lappegal. Thankyou very much Irene, I still haven't decided if it's going to hang in the hallway for mittens and stuff or by my computer and keep things I have to have nearby!

So now it's my turn for a PIF (paying it forward).
If you want to be the recipient of my PiF gift, all you have to do is to be one of the three first people to leave a comment on this blog post, and I will send you a handmade gift within the next 12 months.
What you have to do in return is to pay it forward to three other people, and so it goes on.

The good thing is I will send it all over the world!

Friday Night With Friends - July

Friday evening my lovely friend Anita joined me and we got some stitching done in our knittings.
I started a new cardigan, HVIRVELSTRØM by Annette Danielsen. This is how far I got.
Before Anita came I managed do another hexie flower.

I bought a pocket book for a friends birthday last week and of course I had to make a book cover for it!
I'm linking up with Wendy over at Sugarlane Quilts and her Birthday Love Stash!

Tote Bag Swap

Do you remember I took part in a Secret Tote Bag Swap, and I sent mine to Lia who was the organizer of the swap.
My partner was Eszter from Hungary (no blog). And boy if I was overwhelmed when I opened the parcel from her!
First of all there was a beautiful bag, I love all the fabric she had put in it! AND she had made me a small pouch and a cute bird and a doll and a girl who is supposed to be filled with lavender, she didn't do it because of the customs but it was easily done by me.
I would never have thought about customs, do you when you send parcels overseas?
I guess I have to be a bit more specific when filling out the custom declarations from now on.
She had also enclosed the blue fabric that is handprinted and handdyed in Hungary. The card is from the area where she lives.
Thank you so very much Eszter, I love all of it!

Now it's that time of the month again, Friday Night With Friends, hosted by Cheryll so pop on over to her and sign up you too!
She's even making some cookies for us, Yum!

Friday Night Sew In - July

I took part in the FNSI last week. It will be hosted by Wendy from Sugarlane Quilts for some months.
I was working on a mini for a christmas swap, so I can't show you a lot.

The embroidery is finished so now I have to make a desicion for the design of the mini!

Quilt show!

A couple of weeks ago I went with my friends Caroline and Ros-Marie on a tour!

First we visited Tyger & Ting, they had set up a show in the garden. So many beautiful quilts!

There were lots and lots of people in the store and a very long queue to pay for the goodies.
I bought a pattern for the tree quilt below and for a table runner and some fabrics, of course. I choose between the tree and the top houses in the photo. I think I have to get the houses too.
And I do love the cranes and bullfinch!

After that we went to the quilt show held by Sprätthönsen. So much to see and be inspired by.

Thank you C and R for a great day out!

Friday Night with Friends - July

Friday night I was sewing with some friends ..... or a lot of friends around the world!
I began with the block for ChristieLeigh in the QBSA swap. Sorry, no photo before she gets it and it is going all the way to Australia.

After that I made some hexie flowers, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with them but once in a while I'm making some so perhaps one day there will be enough for a baby quilt or something else.

Where is my head!

Sometimes I do wonder!

I was in a bit of a hurry when I posted before and totally forgot to show you the pin wheel block I sent to Jan.
Well that's it for now......I think.

QBSA swaps for May and June

In May I was swapping with Fiona at BubzRugz and this is the lovely block I received from her.
And I totally forgot to take a photo of the churn dash I sent to her, so this photo is borrowed from Fiona.

In June my swap partner was Jan and she sent me this beauty. She had also enclosed a coaster and a tea and a coffee in the envelope!
I'm sorry for not having it ironed before taking the picture.

Thankyou so much ladies for being my swap partners!

A long way!

You know my give away the other week was won by Sooli. So the package went all the way to Australia!
I did tuck a little pincushion inside the package, so it almost looked like a ball.
It has now arrived at Sooli's house and she did tell me that she likes the owlpincushion. I see now that the photo looks a bit odd, but there it is.

Bag swap

I'm taking part in a Secret Tote Bag Swap over at Lia's.
Secret Tote Bag Swap This is what I'm sending to my secret partner.
It has the colours she likes so I hope she will like this bag. I also made her a small bag to either keep the bag in in another bag, or keep small things in it inside the large bag. Am I even making sense with that sentence?
Anyway, I do hope she'll like it!

Happy midsummer!

There were sun in the morning but after that it has been pouring with rain. Now it looks as the sun is coming back, but I'm just waiting for the thunderstorm because it looks like very dark clouds in the sky. And I can feel it in my head!
Here's a pic of my may-pole I take out every year.
