Friday Night Sew In - September
On friday night I took part in the FNSI organised by Wendy, pop over to her to see what all the other 55 were doing!
I actually did some sewing. First I finished my blocks for a swap I'm in. Obviously I can't show you anything from that!
I saw this Broken Herringbone block over at Sooli's and had to try it out, the tutorial can be found here.
I'm not sure about the blue sashing, I think it looks fine with the orange/yellow but perhaps not blue or green. But I really like this one!
But should really be working on something else. I did however finish the top for a table runner, do you remember this one. Now it's ready to be sandwiched.
However the first thing to start with is to quilt my daughter's "The cat in the hat" quilt. She has been asking when it'll be finished for quite a long time now!

The Kokako!
Well, here he is in all his glory!
The Kokako is a pattern I've been testing out for Juliet @ Tartankiwi.
He certainly looks like a he, I don't know if the male and female looks the same. Thanks Juliet for letting me
try it out!
Today I'm linking up with the Paper Piecing Party @ Quiet Play.

Friday Night With Friends - September
Friday night I was sewing along with friends all over the world thanks to Cheryll who organize it all for us. Even if she is in China at the moment!
I was sewing a paper pieced Kokako, a bird from New Zealand, and when I was sewing the different parts together today and almost had finished it, BANG, I have to do some unsewing before I can finish it.
Perhaps I'll do that tonight because now I'm heading out for the sun. So I won't even show you anything of it.
We still have summer right now but the forecast says it's going to rain on tuesday. You know I don't like that.

Lucky me!
I took part in a Winter Mini Swap hosted by Cheryll and was partnered with Lyn @ Stitches From The Mainland. She sent me this lovely mini, but I wont hang it just yet because I want the sun to shine a bit longer!
The photo doesn't show the embroidered snowflakes with beads shining in it. I love it!
Thankyou so much Lyn!
This is the one I sent to Lyn and I'm so glad that she liked it.
I've also been lucky when Carol @ Just Let Me Quilt had a giveaway on the Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop and I won this panel by Nancy Halvorsen called Ho Ho Ho Let it snow. It's so cute!
I can't find the photo I took of the panel so I've borrowed one from Carol.

Friday Night Sew In - August, and a PIF
I can't show what I was sewing because it's for Kerry in the Quilting Block Swaps Australia. I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for her so you have to wait for that one.
And then I continued on my HVIRVELSTRØM. I've almost finished the arms. This is the arms together with a piece of the back, even if it looks like a snake for now!
I've been lucky lately and have won this beautiful package of Tonga treats from Kate over at Two Little Banshees. Thankyou so very much Kate, the fabrics are divine!
And after that I had a PIF gift in my letterbox. It's from Irene over at Lappegal. Thankyou very much Irene, I still haven't decided if it's going to hang in the hallway for mittens and stuff or by my computer and keep things I have to have nearby!
So now it's my turn for a PIF (paying it forward).
If you want to be the recipient of my PiF gift, all you have to do is to be one of the three first people to leave a comment on this blog post, and I will send you a handmade gift within the next 12 months.
What you have to do in return is to pay it forward to three other people, and so it goes on.
The good thing is I will send it all over the world!

Friday Night With Friends - July
I started a new cardigan, HVIRVELSTRØM by Annette Danielsen. This is how far I got.
Before Anita came I managed do another hexie flower.
I bought a pocket book for a friends birthday last week and of course I had to make a book cover for it!
I'm linking up with Wendy over at Sugarlane Quilts and her Birthday Love Stash!

Tote Bag Swap
Do you remember I took part in a Secret Tote Bag Swap, and I sent mine to Lia who was the organizer of the swap.
My partner was Eszter from Hungary (no blog). And boy if I was overwhelmed when I opened the parcel from her!
First of all there was a beautiful bag, I love all the fabric she had put in it! AND she had made me a small pouch and a cute bird and a doll and a girl who is supposed to be filled with lavender, she didn't do it because of the customs but it was easily done by me.
I would never have thought about customs, do you when you send parcels overseas?
I guess I have to be a bit more specific when filling out the custom declarations from now on.
She had also enclosed the blue fabric that is handprinted and handdyed in Hungary. The card is from the area where she lives.
Thank you so very much Eszter, I love all of it!
Now it's that time of the month again, Friday Night With Friends, hosted by Cheryll so pop on over to her and sign up you too!
She's even making some cookies for us, Yum!

Quilt show!
A couple of weeks ago I went with my friends Caroline and Ros-Marie on a tour!
First we visited Tyger & Ting, they had set up a show in the garden. So many beautiful quilts!
There were lots and lots of people in the store and a very long queue to pay for the goodies.
I bought a pattern for the tree quilt below and for a table runner and some fabrics, of course. I choose between the tree and the top houses in the photo. I think I have to get the houses too.
And I do love the cranes and bullfinch!
After that we went to the quilt show held by Sprätthönsen. So much to see and be inspired by.
Thank you C and R for a great day out!

Friday Night with Friends - July
Friday night I was sewing with some friends ..... or a lot of friends around the world!
I began with the block for ChristieLeigh in the QBSA swap. Sorry, no photo before she gets it and it is going all the way to Australia.
After that I made some hexie flowers, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with them but once in a while I'm making some so perhaps one day there will be enough for a baby quilt or something else.
