Ouuuch!

When I was coming home from work earlier today I closed the car door and it took me a second or two before I realised I had squeezed my thumb in between. Ouch! Tonight it looks even worse and is aching and pounding like h-ll.

I hope it'll be better tomorrow because I'm off to a Knit camp in Vrigstad for the weekend. So I hope I'll be able to hold the knitting needles. Because I'm bringing a lot of different work with me.


Last Friday I joined Wendy in the FNSI and worked on a block for a swap, and did some knitting. There's a lot of knitting going on at the moment. I'm so glad that mojo has come back!

I've finished my Tam, it was so fun to knit. But is a bit too warm at the moment, seems like spring is coming. Yeay!

I've also been test knitting these two childrens hats for a book.

I really like them with the earflaps!
Let's see if I can get some sleep before I'm off to Vrigstad tomorrow!

Happy Valentine!

I wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day!

My day will for sure be happy because I'm going to the Stockholm Syfestival. I think it's the biggest craft fair in Sweden.
Me and my friends are taking the train to the capital city early Friday morning and are staying till Saturday. Of course we're going to have some Happy days!

Initial Heart Swap

I took part in this Valentine's day swap organised by Cheryll, a terrific swap mama! Thank you Cheryll for all the fun you do for us!

I was partnered with Laurie from New Zealand and got this beautiful hanging Heart and some Turkish delight and a wooden bear.

This is what I sent to Laurie.            

 

Inside was a purse and a chocolate box.

 On the inside of the purse I had a fabric with some tiny hearts on it.

FNWF

My friday night was spent with 65 other lovely ladies. We were all organised by Cheryll who once a month organise the Friday Night With Friends for anyone to join in. So don't forget to sign up for the first friday of every month.
I spent my night cutting, sewing and knitting.
I'm working on a new tablerunner and it's looking good so far. This is what it looks like at the moment.

As usual I ended up on the couch with a knitting. It's actually a bit more fun to knit now than it's been recently. Perhaps because I've started a few new things.
One of them is a tam, I found the pattern in a book but can't remember the books name. Typical! At least I've still got the pattern! Here it is right now.

I've also started on a new shawl, but I'll save that one for later.

My first finish for the year!

I started this tablerunner in May last year. I've worked on it now and then but it has always been something I had to do first.

But now it's finished and I'm so happy about it!

FNSI - January...and OPAM 2014

Friday night it was FNSI and I worked hard and finished some secrets for the Initial Heart swap which I can't reveal before Valentine's day.
After that I started a new table runner I had cut the fabric for earlier in the week. So far it's looking good! I'm using a charm pack of La Belle Fleur by French General, a collection I really like! Well except for the blue "fence" which is a different fabric.

The pattern for the block is called Garden Fence and could be found here. I'm making 6 blocks for the tablerunner.

I've also signed up for the OPAM 2014, go check it out yourself and you can sign up too before February 1st.
Last year I finished 56 items. It's a great way to know what you have accomplished every month. Thankyou Peg and Kris for running this again!

My Friday night..

was spent with friends from all over the world because I joined with Cheryll and all the other lovely ladies in FNWF. Go here and check out what they all where doing.
I started out with making a Ohio star for a swap, can't show that just yet.

Then I turned to my hexies for a while.

After that I was knitting for the rest of the evening. I've joined the UFO blir FO under 2014 (UFO become FO during 2014). And for January I'm knitting on my Caramel. This is how far I've come.

Christmas swap 2013!

This was my first time in the Secret Santa Christmas Swap held by Chookyblue and Googygirl.
And oh boy what a lot of fun it was, Thank you so very much ladies!
Early in December I got my parcel from Michelle in NZ. Here it is after I had opened the ornament, which was allowed. I love the mitten with the snowman on!

And on Christmas I got to open all this

A beautiful stitchery with bells on and everything, I love it!!
A calender which is all my style, ornaments and Christmas chocolate.

First was the star ornament to be opened at once,
and on Christmas Day she got to open the table runner I had made her.

For Me, for Christmas

Yes for me, or for my couch.
I wanted to make a lap quilt for Christmas but for once I realised there wasn't time for that and decided on a cushion.

It came together very quick and easy. I started with the middle block with the ornament, you could find it HERE, and then just added fabric to it.
On the back it's closed with a zipper.
